2018 Year in Review

2018 Year in Review

As the end of the year approaches, we’re taking a moment to reflect on some of the great things that have taken place at the Rochester Eye & Laser Center in 2018. We’ve welcomed exciting new technology and a few new faces. We’ve invited our patients in to our Open House events to see live procedures, ask question and meet our exemplary staff, dedicated to ensuring clearly better vision for every patient who comes through our door.

Here are a few of our proudest highlights from this year.

We have a long-standing tradition of staying on the leading edge with our vision technology and this year was no different.  This spring, we introduced Contoura Vision. Your eyes are like fingerprints. Each is different, and both are unique to you. Contoura Vision gives us the ability to map up to 22,000 unique elevation points per eye, creating a detailed map. This map of your eye allows us to tailor your LASIK treatment to each eye, separately, creating a treatment totally unique to your specific vision needs.

Just as the weather began to warm up, we introduced another state-of-the-art procedure called KAMRA Corneal Inlay. KAMRA is for people who experience age-related near vision loss, and it is designed to reduce or eliminate your dependence on reading glasses.

Every year, in honor of September 11th, The Rochester Eye & Laser Center honors those who work and sacrifice to protect us each day, by awarding free LASIK Laser Vision Correction Surgery to a deserving, local first responder. As August rolled around, we geared up for our annual Eyes on our Heroes LASIK Giveaway. Our office chooses the finalists and then the community votes. This year’s winner is Rochester Firefighter Shane Mandel. It even made the news!

This autumn, days got shorter and colder, while we planned our Inaugural VIP Fashion Show and Silent Auction, in our Optical Shop.  Our guests got special pricing on Bolle’ and Serengeti frames, and a representative from Cazal joined us to talk to us about there products. It was a huge success and we can’t wait to begin the planning for next year.

This year also brought us out of our office and into your homes, in real time, with our Facebook Live sessions.  We previewed some of the hottest trends in eyewear, all available in our Optical Shop and broadcast a live LipiFlow procedure during one of our community Open Houses.

As you can see, 2018 has been a busy year for us at the Rochester Eye & Laser Center. Now that we’ve taken a look back, we must take look ahead. 2019 promises to be just as busy and we can’t wait

Happy Holidays from all of us at the Rochester Eye & Laser Center. We wish you Clearly Better Vision for 2019. We are here to help.
